The Kanata Blazers Major Atom A team took to the ice for the Pembroke Silver Stick Regional tournament in Pembroke the weekend of November 13th-15th. They defeated the Quinte West Hawks in their first game 5-0. Their second round robin game had them playing against a familiar opponent, the Silver Seven Black team.

With determination and dedication, the boys pulled off a tie 5-5. Their third game was against the Rideau St. Lawrence Kings with a win 4-0, setting them up for a semi-final match with the same team and another win, 5-1. The Blazers earned their spot in the final game against the Silver Seven Black team. This game would prove to be a game the boys would never forget. The first period left us two goals behind but the boys came back in the second period with two goals to tie it up. The third period was intense once the Silver Seven boys scored two more goals leaving us behind with two minutes in the game. The Blazers didn't give up and every line came out giving their best effort. Two goals in the final two minutes of play led us into a very exciting overtime. With plenty of drive, energy and heart, the boys came out and scored a sweet goal to win the tournament title, 5-4. Congratulations to the players and coaching staff from all the fans for a very exciting tournament weekend. Good luck in Sarnia! |
