Registration Dates In person registration
Returning players registering in person must bring with them a completed registration form and, if paying by cheque, or cheques as per the fee schedule below. If paying by credit card full fee will be charged at time of registration. Players are not considered registered and will not be able to participate until fees have been received. New players are those who have not previously played organized hockey, or did not play this past season. To register a new player please bring the following the registration session; a completed registration form, proof of residence in Kanata (i.e. a bill in the parents name to a Kanata address), proof of age for the player (i.e. birth certificate or passport) and, if paying by cheque, cheques as per the fee schedule below. If paying by credit card full fee will be charged at time of registration. Players are not considered registered and will not be able to participate until fees have been received. Transferring players are those players who have previously played hockey with another organization. Players coming to KMHA from another ODMHA association must bring with them to registration; a completed registration form, proof of residence in Kanata (i.e. a bill in the parents name to a Kanata address), proof of age for the player (i.e. birth certificate or passport) and, if paying by cheque, or cheques dated as per the fee schedule below. If paying by credit card full fee will be charged at time of registration. In addition each transferring player must have a completed (top portion) Inter-district transfer form with appropriate proof documents. Players are not considered registered and will not be able to participate until fees and transfer paperwork have been received. Players transferring from organizations outside of the ODMHA but within Canada must bring with them a letter from their previous organization noting that the player has left with no outstanding suspensions and no fees owed along with the completed registration form, proof of residence in Kanata (i.e. a bill in the parents name to a Kanata address), proof of age for the player (i.e. birth certificate or passport) and, if paying by cheque, cheques as per the fee schedule below. If paying by credit card full fee will be charged at time of registration. Players transferring from any location outside of Canada must contact the Registrar directly to determine what paperwork will be required in order to complete registration.

Competitive tryout fees
Atom/Peewee AA - $90.00 A - $80.00 B - $65
Bantam/Midget AA - $75.00 A – N/A B - $65
Only those players wanting to tryout for Competitive teams should register for tryouts. Those players not registering for competitive tryouts will automatically be placed in house league sort-outs.
Please note: Players should only be registered for 1 tryout only
Players re-assigned from any level competitive tryout will automatically move to the tryout for the next level down. i.e if a player initially registers for a AA level tryout and is re-assigned then they will automatically move on the either the A or B tryout depending on the player level. There is no additional fee required.
Credit Card payments
All fees being paid by credit card will be processed in full at the time of registration.
Cheque Payments
All cheques for in person registration must accompany the registration form. Players are not considered registered and will not be able to participate until fees have been received.
Early period registrants paying by cheque may make one payment dated June 15th OR may choose to pay their fees in two equal payments; the first payment dated June 15th and the second July 15th.
Regular period registrants paying by cheque may make 1 payment due immediately upon registration OR may choose to pay their fees in two equal payments; the first payment is to be dated immediately upon registration and the second on July 15th
NOTE: For any player registering for competitive tryouts and paying in two payments full tryout fees must be included in the first payment.i.e. Atom Early registration fees + B level tryouts payment 1 -> $282.50 (half of basic registration fee)+ 65 (tryout fees)= 347.50 payment 2 = $282.50 (half of basic registration fee)
Late period registrants (those registering after July 1st) must pay fees as one payment due immediately upon registration.
Note that in addition to registration fees each player may be expected to provide additional funds to their team to cover expenses such as tournament registrations, off-ice activities etc. These fees are set at the team level and will vary based on the goals of the team for the season.
Financial Assistance and alternate payment plans-The KMHA has in place a financial assistance program that aids those families who otherwise would not be able to afford hockey. The program provides assistance for registration fees only. Additionally alternative payment plans may be arranged for those families requiring them. Special Information for AAA hopefuls Players from District 11 (KMHA) wishing to try out for AAA teams (which are only offered in Bantam and Midget) must register with KMHA prior to attending August AAA tryouts. All AAA hopefuls must register in person and provide a post dated cheque for Aug 15th, 2010. Please ensure that the player is registered for KMHA competitive tryouts in order for them to be moved smoothly between the AAA and KMHA tryouts. Cheques for players released from AAA tryouts will be processed as we are informed by the AAA club of release. Payments for successful AAA candidates will be destroyed.
You must still register separately with the AAA club to attend their tryout.
Junior A or B:Junior A or B hopefuls must register with KMHA to reserve their place. There is no guarantee of a place with KMHA for players released from a junior team unless previously registered for 2010/11 season.
For successful registrants, a full refund will be given. Registrant must complete an application for refund. This must be completed/signed and delivered to the KMHA office no later than December 31, 2010.
NSF Cheques All NSF cheques are subject to a $25 administration fee and must be replaced by cash or money order. Non-payment will result in player being suspended from participating in the KMHA.
Official Receipts
Official tax receipts will be issued via e-mail before February 28th, 2011.
Refund Policy
ALL refunds will be subject to a $50 administration fee. There will be NO refund of tryout fees with the exception of players who are accepted to AAA. Refund checks will be processed within 2 weeks of notification to the Registrar of intent to withdraw and receipt of request for refund.
Prior to tryouts/sort outs 100%
Between tryouts/sort outs and December 1st, 2010 the amount of refund will be calculated on a case by case basis.
No refunds after Dec 1st
